From Rev. Kristina Church

I hope you are all enjoying the beginnings of spring, and that your spring holidays, however you may celebrate them – Nowruz, Passover, Equinox, Ostara/Easter – bring you a sense of hope and possibility this year. It brings me joy to know that more and more FUSW folks are getting their vaccines, and we’re all moving towards a time when lives can again be filled with possibility.

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Erie, PA, has extended to me an offer to become their settled minister, and I have decided to accept their call. My decision is based on a number of factors involving my family: my husband’s departure from academia this year, my moving into breadwinner status, and all the many demands on my time and energy that parenthood and ministry entail...

...This isn’t an imminent goodbye; I’ll continue to serve as your minister for several more months, so we will have time to look ahead and to look back, and to be fully present to one another in this moment. Feel free to talk to me about your own needs during this time of transition as well. I continue to be grateful and proud to serve as your minister. Thank you for this time together.

With gratitude for today, and blessings for the future,

~ Kristina

From the Board of Trustees

As you see from Rev. Kristina’s message, she has accepted an offer for a ministry that will better suit her needs and the needs of her family next year, and so will not be able to continue with FUSW. We regret that we will not have the opportunity to continue our wonderful relationship with Kristina beyond this year but are very grateful for all she has brought our congregation during this challenging time. (And she will, of course, continue to be with us through the end of her term in August.) The Board will again assemble a Ministerial Search Committee to begin the search for a new minister. If you would like to be a part of this committee, please contact Craig Butler (
Share the Plate for April: Neighbors Link and Yonkers Sanctuary Movement

The mission of Neighbors Link is to strengthen the whole community through the healthy integration of immigrants. They achieve this by filling a service gap for new immigrant families, offering education and empowerment programs, involving longer-term residents in volunteer opportunities, and creating substantive partnerships with other local organizations. The Yonkers Sanctuary Movement is a grassroots organization that educates and mobilizes immigrants and allies in Yonkers to keep immigrant families safe from detention and deportation, and to fight for justice for the undocumented community of Yonkers. We collect for our Share-the-Plate partner throughout the month. Visit, clickDonate, and select Share the Plate.
Continuing Our Journey

Please confirm your continued financial support of FUSW by making a pledge to the operating budget for the coming year. If this congregation has been here for you over the past year, we ask that you be here for our congregation’s future. It is your generosity that makes our community possible, so do what you can to ensure the future at FUSW is bright for all of us. Use this form to make your pledge before Sunday, April 18, or send an email to telling us your pledge amount. A member of the finance committee or board may call in case you have any questions. Let's continue our journey - together!
