Mickey D was named for where he was found: a McDonald's parking lot. Both of his hind legs with injured, if not broken, but he still sought the attention of humans, asking for someone to help him. We don't know how he sustained his injuries.
Upon arrival at Gifford, it was clear that both of his hind legs were uncomfortable. With the recommendation of an orthopedic surgeon, we decided that one of his legs would be amputated, and the other would undergo a procedure that would make it more comfortable, but would still require some recovery time before he could bear weight on it.
Mickey D had his surgery and in the process, he found himself a home! The veterinary technician who assisted with his surgery fell in love and decided to adopt him!
