Christmas Eve Online Worship, Thursday, December 24
Comfort and Joy
Rev. Kristina Church

Gather at 5:00pm for special holiday music performed by our wonderful FUSW musicians.
Service begins at 5:30pm.

At difficult times, this community can bring each other comfort and joy by sharing our gifts with one another -- gifts of creativity, presence, and love. Come share this sacred time with us, as we celebrate our traditional Christmas Eve service, in a virtual format this year. Bring a candle, bring your good cheer... and most of all, bring the gift of you! All are welcome to join us as we welcome the light of hope to a troubled world.

Online Worship, Sunday, December 27
Hindsight is 2020
Rev. Molly Brewer
Gathering Music 10:25am - Service 10:30am

It's no secret that many of us have experienced this year as one of pain, loss, anxiety, and hardship. The saying goes that "those who do not remember history shall surely repeat it," and as we move on to the next calendar year, what lessons can we take with us from this hard time? How will they be useful to us farther down the road, and how will our memories of 2020 sustain us when the going gets rough once again?

From the Minister

Greetings to all members and friends of FUSW! I hope this holiday week finds you well and safe, and in relatively good cheer.

I'm very much looking forward to being with you all this Thursday evening for our Christmas Eve service, “Comfort and Joy.” We have a wonderful program for you, with a variety of offerings by so many of our wonderfully talented FUSW musicians. The Worship Committee and I have done our best to bring you something truly festive and inspiring, even with all the limitations of a virtual service. I hope you'll enjoy what we've put together.

I wish each and every one of you a very happy holiday, and a hope-filled New Year. I should also let you know that I'll be taking leave between December 25th and January 10th, during which I'll be reachable in case of an emergency, but for all other issues, will be sure to get back to you after my return.

I look forward to being together in 2021, and to more opportunities for us to connect and grow in our faith. Meanwhile, be safe, be well, and I'll see you soon! ~ Blessings, Kristina

Call to Action

In response to recent NYS legislation, local town and city governments are seeking community input and drafting initial police reform proposals this month and next. Your participation can make a difference! Learn more in the NYS Police Reform and Reinvention Collaborative Resources and Guide for Public Officials and Citizens. Then check your local government website or call elected officials to find out who is developing the plan in your community. Attend meetings, provide input, and help engage others by sharing this news widely. Learn more in this message from the New York UU Justice network.
Share the Plate Update

Our commitment to Social Action is ongoing, even when our ability to collect money virtually for Share the Plate is a challenge. Committees at FUSW have funds set aside for special projects, and they have authorized contributions from the funds to go to our Share the Plate organizations. These organizations need funding more than ever to continue in this challenging time. We will promote the organizations and collect Share the Plate money starting in the new year.
