ANSWER

Uruguay

The first FIFA World Cup was held in Uruguay from July 13 to 30 in 1930. FIFA’s governing council chose Uruguay to be the host, and all games were played in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. 13 soccer teams joined the competition, but only a few European teams chose to participate.

The committee divided the teams into four groups and the winner of each group moved on to the semi-finals. In the final round, Uruguay overcame Argentina, and Uruguay became the first Champion of the FIFA World Cup.
