Our Faith Family

With sadness we share that Edith Kates, mother of FUSW member Betsy Kates, died peacefully on January 13. Edith was 97 years old, and a lifelong UU. Learn more about Edith here. We will remember and honor her life at a Celebration of Life service on Sunday, January 24, at 2:00pm. Click here to join the service (or phone 929-436-2866; Meeting: 336 956 2210; Passcode: 468468). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UU Service Committee (uusc.org).

We extend our deepest sympathies to Carter Smith on the passing of his mother, Betsy, on January 12. Betsy Smith was an author and a dedicated advocate for mental health. We are invited to honor her memory by donating to NAMI. We hold Carter and his family in our hearts.

From the Treasurer

Year End Tax Statements
This week we are mailing out statements of your total tax-deductible contribution to FUSW for the calendar year 2020. You will receive two pages, one with contributions from January through June, and one from July through December. Members and friends who pledged to the operating budget for the FUSW fiscal year (July 2020 through June 2021) recently received status reports on their pledge payments. Contact Susan Greenberg (fuswtreasurer@gmail.com) or Rina Schunk (admin@fusw.org).
Bread Run

Every day we see evidence of the rise in food insecurity, both nationally and locally. Thanks to our great relationship with Stop & Shop in Dobbs Ferry, the FUSW Bread Run continues to deliver, faithfully, to our community partners on Sundays and Tuesdays. The team could use another volunteer (or two!) on Tuesdays - can you help? Contact: George McAnanama (gmcvet4p@gmail.com)
Share the Plate for January: Federated Conservationists

The mission of Federated Conservationists of Westchester County is to provide leadership that educates about environmental issues, advocates for sound decision making, unifies groups and individuals to address climate change, and protects and preserves Westchester's environment. We collect for our Share the Plate partner throughout the month. Visit fusw.org, click "Donate," and select "Share the Plate."
