JULY 2020
What a busy time! While we've been conducting safe adoptions for a while, we've added a new layer of protection in anticipation of the county's lessening of restrictions. (Though that plan has unfortunately been placed on hold, we will be well prepared once it happens.) In the meantime, we are finding homes left and right for dogs and cats. Last week we reached the 400th adoption milestone...a whole month earlier than last year!
If you need more than that to bring a little dose of goodness to your day, be sure to check out the stories in our special Humane News summer edition. Remember, folks might not be able to see your mouth beneath a mask, but a true smile will shine forth from your eyes. Stay safe out there!
Be A Humane Hero
We're already half-way through July and Critter Camp sessions are coming to a close for the summer. But don't despair! Two virtual camp adventures remain for Humane Heroes ages 12-14. These week-long sessions starting July 20 and 27 will have campers exploring careers working with animals, learning how to be responsible pet guardians, and include a fun mix of crafts, activities and animal visitors! View the technical requirements and sign up your camper today!
It's Time to Clear the Shelters!
NBC's Clear the Shelters is back, and this year it's a month-long adoption event! The annual adoption extravaganza, which helps to find homes for over 100,000 pets each year, will run throughout the entire month of August and enable us to continue prioritizing everyone's well-being with our safe adoption guidelines while conducting adoptions by appointment only. Save a life this summer by adopting or donating and let's Clear the Shelters!

Watch Those Paws!
With temperatures on the rise this time of year, remember to check the weather and test the pavement before taking your four-legged friend on a summer stroll. Heat levels can change quickly in vehicles; never leave your pet in a car. For more summer safety tips visit us here.
Legacy of a LIfetime
Many people only think of a planned gift as a will or bequest that helps after they are gone. In fact, there are many giving options that allow you to see the impact of your contribution throughout your lifetime. Explore our planned giving toolkit to learn more about the ways in which you can help animals right now.
Story Time
Eager for a few good tails? Read our Humane News for Summer 2020, an annual publication usually reserved for our snail mail donors. It's full of great stories showing the impact of your support through our programs and services. This year, for the first time, we have an online version!
