Email Phishing Scam

You may have received a fake email from “REV. KRISTINA CHURCH.” The subject line was “BLESSINGS [your name],” the sender was actually “,” and the message said “...I need you to handle something for me...” This is a scam. Faith communities are frequently the targets of scammers who send emails posing as the minister or leadership, asking for help or money. Never hit Reply to a suspicious email (it will go to the scammer); instead contact the sender directly using a trusted email or phone number, to check. Learn more HERE.

Message from the Minister

Greetings, FUSW members and friends! I want to let you know about an opportunity for spiritual deepening that I'll be offering to a small group of folks from both of my congregations, starting this weekend!

It's called UU Wellspring, and it's a program of spiritual deepening for UUs. We'll be using the Sources curriculum, which is based in the Six Sources of Unitarian Universalism. UU Wellspring has been around for many years, after being created by religious professionals at one of our congregations in Rochester, NY.

  • Here is a Table of Contents for Wellspring Sources so you can see what the topics are like.
  • Here is a brief video with participants in Wellspring sharing their experiences. As a bonus, our own Rev. Viola Abbitt is one of the featured participants!
  • Here are the Frequently Asked Questions on the Wellspring website, in case you're interested in checking them out.
  • Here are some videos where you can learn more about UU Wellspring

There is room in our group for up to six people from FUSW to join. Meetings will be all virtual (by Zoom). After an initial kickoff retreat, which is required for all participants, we'll meet every other Wednesday evening for two-hour sessions. The dates are: 11/4 & 18; 12/2 & 16; 1/6 & 20; 2/3 & 17; 3/3, 17, & 31; 4/14 & 28; 5/12 & 26; 6/9 & 23; and 7/7 & 21.

Our initial retreat will be this Saturday, October 31 (yes, that's Halloween -- a great day for new spiritual endeavors!) from 10:00am to 2:00pm. In addition to the meetings, participants will be asked to do some outside reading and check in with a spiritual director on a monthly basis. Most of the materials are available at the public library or online, and it's possible to find a spiritual director or companion at no cost to you.

I'm very excited to share UU Wellspring with you, after participating in the Sources program during the past year! If you have questions about Wellspring, don't hesitate to contact me (! I look forward to getting to know some FUSW folks on a deeper level through our participating in Wellspring together!

Blessings ~ Rev. Kristina
