Let's honor the 250th anniversary of Universalism in the United States by remembering one of its most colorful characters! Abner Kneeland's unusual ideas and bold writings landed him in hot water more than once. Just how far did a minister have to go to be too radical for Universalism? How do his shocking theological and political notions fit into our religious movement today?
Message from the Minister

Hi everyone, and welcome to our first full week of October. I hope you are all continuing to stay well and safe, and to take good care of yourselves right now. Please recognize that all of us are under a good deal of stress and, if you can, I hope you'll find ways to ground and nurture yourself. Take a walk, call a friend, turn off the 24/7 news cycle if possible. Please know that all of you are in my heart.

This weekend, your Board and I will be meeting (by Zoom, of course) with Rev. Evin Carvill-Ziemer, our Congregational Life Representative from the Unitarian Universalist Association, for a Ministerial Startup workshop. The purpose of this workshop is for ministers and congregations who are new to one another to learn more about each other's needs, gifts, and expectations. This process assists us in continuing to embark well on this voyage of shared ministry that we've already begun!

This Sunday's service, "Living into Our Promise," will encompass some of the themes that we touch on during the Startup workshop, and I'll be excited to share some of those insights with the whole congregation. I hope you can join us at 10:30am this Sunday!

See you soon,
Rev. Kristina

Share the Plate Re-imagined

The Board needs your help in renewing our commitment to our Social Justice actions and our Share the Plate support. We will be highlighting one organization or justice initiative each month in the coming year, and invite you to submit nominations to the Board. The organization must be one that you support with your passion, time, and talent, as well as your dollars. It must have an impact locally, even if it is a national organization, and it must be a registered 501(c)(3). We see this as a way to encourage others to join us in something we think is worthwhile, a way to support each other’s interests, and a way to increase our visibility in the wider community. We anticipate having you or a representative from the organization speak briefly during a service in the month when that organization is highlighted. Contact Susan Greenberg ( with your suggestions.
