4B Team on Target

Meet 4B Electrical Technician, Jay Stinauer. Jay comes from a long line of dentistry, but lucky for our team, he decided to pursue a career in the electrical field.

“Two years into working on a degree in biology at Monmouth College, I decided I didn’t want to be a dentist like my dad and brothers,” Jay says. “After three years of in-field electrical experience with KDJ/Canary Systems, specializing in hazard monitoring, installing CMC, 4B and Electro-sensor products, I have installed jobs upwards of 300 sensor points!”

Jay says the favorite parts of his job are the facilities he gets to work in and the sights he gets to see!

“I travel to all kinds of facilities. From seeing pasta and cereal mills to ethanol plants, I tell people that my job is like the show, “How It’s Made”, but in-person for me, every day. And when you work in hazard monitoring, you know that the work you are doing saves lives,” he shares.

When Jay isn’t spectating the creation of products or saving lives, he can be found on the water, duck hunting or fishing.

“It’s hard not to be into hunting and fishing growing up on the water in Havana, IL,” he says. “My dad loves duck hunting the most, and it has been a good way to spend time with him; I could usually care less if any ducks come in – if they do, it’s just a bonus!”

With just over a year with 4B, Jay is an incredible colleague and we’re proud to have him on the team!
