"Under Construction: You. Me. Us."

~ Michael DeSantis

All around us, the world and the cosmos are in a constant state of flux. We are, too...although we tend to forget it. This week, we’ll reflect on how we can embrace the lifelong spiritual work of creating our best selves and most beloved communities.

Service will be live-streamed from the UU Congregation of the Hudson Valley, our summer worship partners, and in person at UUCHV, 2021 Albany Post Road, Croton-on-Hudson. If you or anyone you live with has COVID or COVID symptoms, please do not attend in-person services.

If you have a Joy or Sorrow you would like read during the service, please email it to Anne Pearl ([email protected]) no later than 8:00pm, Saturday, July 22.

About Our Guest Speaker

Michael DeSantis (he/they) is an aspiring UU minister, who recently completed his second year in the Master of Divinity program at Union Theological Seminary in New York City. Originally from Pittsburgh, Michael grew up in a non-religious Irish Catholic family before finding Unitarian Universalism in his early 20’s. Michael now lives in Manhattan and is an active member of the First Unitarian Congregational Society in Brooklyn. His spiritual practices include baking bread, meditating, hiking, and playing with his rambunctious rescue cat.

Share the Plate

For July and August, our Share the Plate donations will go to Neighbors Link, which offers new immigrants education and empowerment programs, involves longer-term residents in volunteer opportunities and creates substantive partnerships with other local organizations. Support services include a Worker Center, English as a Second Language (ESL) education, legal services and advocacy, workforce development, parent education, early childhood programs and academic support for school-age children of immigrants.

We collect for our Share-the-Plate partner throughout the month. Visit, click “Donate,” and select “Share the Plate.”

Join Our Pulpit Committee

The loose definition of Pulpit is “a raised platform lecture in a chapel from which the preacher delivers a talk.” Imagine it empty. That’s why we need YOU on the Pulpit Committee. There are only two people on the committee now. We could benefit by the addition of one or two to bring some fresh ideas. Please contact Lenore Lupie at 917-282-4327 or [email protected] if you are interested.
