Meditation Group with Mashuq Deen
Wednesday, November 12
7:00pm-8:00pm, at FUSW
All are welcome to this combination of guided seated and walking meditation. Please bring a cushion to sit on if you wish to sit on the floor, and chairs are available for those who need them. You're invited to remove your shoes and you may wish to bring socks, a sweater, or even a thin blanket with you. Deen has experience with multiple meditation methods and is a certified yoga teacher. "Music in Films" Concert
Saturday, November 8 | 7:00pm – Bayside United Methodist Church, 38-20 Bell Blvd, Flushing, NY 11361
Karmesha Peake, our Office Administrator, will be the featured mezzo soprano soloist!
Come and enjoy unforgettable scenes and melodies from beloved films and dramas featuring piano, violin, cello, soprano, and mezzo soprano performances. The event is free of charge and refreshments will be served following the concert. "Music in Films" is the 8th concert in the series at Bayside UMC.

The Arrivals: Film Screening Event
Saturday, November 8 | 5:00pm – 7:00pm at UUCHV
The Arrivals, a powerful 36-minute film about asylum seekers who were suddenly bused to NYC in 2022 and the volunteers who supported them with food, clothing, and kindness.
Hosted by Cristina Alvarez Arnold (Croton IDEA) and Bettina Mayer (Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Hudson Valley), the event includes a discussion and reception with filmmaker Andrea Garbarini and guests from Neighbors Link, NYC TLC, and Open Arms for Refugees.

NYUUJ Justice Convocation in Albany

Join NYUUJ on November 15th at Albany Unitarian Universalist for our second annual Justice Convocation!
With a theme of "From Revival to Resistance" the day will feature opportunities for education, action, and community. The event will feature justice leaders from various UU congregations and will focus on climate justice, immigration justice, preserving democracy and more. Can't make it in person? Board of Trustees - The Board usually meets on the third Monday of each month via Zoom at 7:45pm. If you wish to attend, please check with a board member or the administrator, because the schedule sometimes shifts. Click here to join the Board meeting on Zoom.
Meetings are open to any member of FUSW. For confidential matters, non-Board members will be asked to leave temporarily. At the end of the meeting, there will be an open forum, during which non-Board members can speak about topics of concern, limiting remarks to two minutes. To access the minutes from previous meetings, visit the Members page of fusw.org and click on Board Minutes Archive.
