"Put on the Chicken Suit"

~Pat Wictor

In these strange times, it’s often the case that doing something positive, humane, life-affirming, or merely decent makes us look strange and ridiculous. Instead of shying away from that, let’s lean into it.

About Our Guest

Pat Wictor makes his home in many musical worlds. Grounded in rural blues and gospel traditions, Wictor’s lean, poetic songs and expressive guitar playing are seasoned with jazz, pop, improvisational surprise, philosophy, and social commentary.

Wictor currently tours solo and in a variety of duos. He is also a music educator of note, teaching workshops on guitar, songwriting, body percussion, and vocal and instrumental improvisation. "Soft-spoken and articulate, in the 1930's he could have been a dust bowl preacher. The sermons, accompanied by the choir of his slide guitar, would have brought comfort to many a soul." Update from the Congregational Meeting Faithful Defiance of Authoritarianism: A Call to Action

At the Sunday, October 12 congregational meeting, the resolution was unanimously adopted by members of FUSW. This vote affirms our support for democratic processes and commits this congregation to supporting nonviolent action against antidemocratic forces.

There are copies of the resolution on the greeter's table. You're encouraged to take a few and to share this resolution with like-minded acquaintances as a way of encouraging their places of worship to adopt similar measures--and as a way of sharing what values our congregation stands up for.
