Rocket Mortgage Classic PGA Tour
APACC is pleased to share with you an exciting opportunity coming to Detroit this year! In case you haven’t heard, the Rocket Mortgage Classic will make history in 2019 as the first PGA TOUR event ever held in the city of Detroit. The event is scheduled for June 24-30 at the historic Detroit Golf Club, the tournament will feature 156 of the world’s top players competing for a $7.3 million purse over four days and 72 holes. Embodying the spirit of Detroit, the week-long event will also feature great entertainment, cuisine and social activities on and off the course. The Rocket Giving Fund is the primary charitable beneficiary of the tournament and will support many local charities.

What many people may not know is that there has already been a minimal commitment of four (4) years and is likely to be another ten (10) years pending the anticipated success of the inaugural event. Moreover, with the NAIAS moving to June in 2020, Detroit will be seeing hundreds of thousands of new visitors to the city in that month alone, which is a great opportunity to gain a large amount of exposure with new audiences.

For your convenience, please check out this final opportunity for a hospitality suite for this tournament as they are sold on a first-come-first-serve basis. It is also likely that returning sponsors may be given a first right of refusal for upcoming years; therefore, if you think this may be something your company would be interested in, you may want to reach out to Mr. Andy Walters via the contact information below at your earliest convenience.

More information is available at RocketMortgageClassic or @RocketClassic

Detroit China Festival 2019
The Detroit China Festival (DCF) is an annual festival held in Detroit, Michigan celebrating Chinese culture and aims to increase Asian visibility and diversity
in the city of Detroit, presented by Detroit Chinatown and supported by local government, organizations and corporations. The festival is open to all ages and features various culturally themed activities. These activities include a large variety of authentic Chinese food stands, musical and dance performance by celebrated artists, traditional and modern Chinese and Asian clothing, cultural activity booths, Raffle give away, Chinese non-food business and networking events.

2019 DCF will be the 2nd annual DCF and will be held at the largest square in the core of Downtown Detroit—Hart Plaza on Sept. 21 (Saturday). The 1st DCF in 2018 was extremely successful and we received overwhelming response from festival goers, sponsors, media and both U.S. and Chinese government. The 2nd annual DCF will expand in size and scope. The 2018 event brought close to 10,000 festival goers from Michigan and surrounding states to the city of Detroit. In 2019 we have changed venues, added major attractions and are estimating a total draw of 20,000 attendees.

In her op-ed, the Secretary also highlights the contributions of Asian Pacific Americans today to our country and the establishment of a special initiative, the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, chaired by Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross and herself - to help advance the economic empowerment of Asian American and Pacific Islanders.
