As early childhood educators, we know the importance of curriculum planning as a framework for learning.

In this interactive training, we will explore new strategies designed specifically for infants and toddlers to enhance what we offer for play, both inside and out. We’ll utilize the NH Early Learning Standards as a framework for curriculum and provide hands-on practice that will deepen the understanding and implementation of this resource. We will ensure that we are embedding curriculum development to create an interactive experience for children.

Additionally, participants will learn how to extend this conversation with families and further support child development at home.

Nature Play Spaces

Check out this article by the National Wildlife Foundation. They have put together the importance of nature-based play, how to include nature-based play space “equipment,” and ideas for parents to use at home.

TA Tip: Nurturing Environments

Infants and toddlers are constantly on the go, so they need an environment that captures their attention and fits their needs. By creating a nurturing environment, our youngest learners can have a safe and comfortable place to explore and learn in ways that are developmentally appropriate for them. There are many ways you can achieve this but a simple way to start is to spend the first few weeks of school observing what they gravitate towards for materials. From there take time to reflect on your observations and then have fun creating your space!

This TA Tip was graciously shared by Lindsey Parisi, Lead Training & Technical Assistance Coordinator.

Child Care Aware of NH is here to assist you! To learn more about how we can support your Infant and Toddler Practices, please refer to our Services and Supports Guide.

2023-2024 Services and Supports Guide

When your classroom is designed in a way that caters to the children you will find that this opens up a window of possibilities for learning and exploration!
