January is a time when many of us reflect on the past year and ponder the ambitious list of resolutions we want to work on in the New Year. With the New Year comes fresh energy so now is the perfect time to focus on ourselves and prioritize our self-care by creating new habits and consider starting a “New Year Routine”.
Self-care is what we deliberately do to maintain our mental, physical, and emotional health. Let’s consider approaching the New Year in a way that prioritizes our health and well-being by implementing a “New Year Routine” that focuses on a few attainable goals rather than making big changes that can lead to frustration and disappointment.
A structured “New Year Routine” may bring balance, predictability, a sense of clarity, and control to our day. A “New Year Routine” consisting of small intentional steps can help us establish good habits that may create healthy new patterns and long-term success.
Being an early child care educator is more than a job. Having the opportunity to provide love, care, and comfort while nurturing their young minds and being a part of a special bond is rewarding but it can also be very stressful. You need to take care of yourself in order to care for others. We have all heard the famous saying, “You can’t pour from an empty cup.”
