Preschoolers aren’t yet ready to memorize multiplication tables, but every day in the classroom they explore math concepts they will use when they move on to primary school. Try these ideas at home to help your preschooler explore math.

TA Tip

Cardinality is the knowledge that the last number counted represents the number of objects in the group. It’s a very important concept for children to master in early numeracy. One way to support this is to ask “how many” questions after a child has finished counting. Teach them that the last number they counted represents how many.

Credential Fees Waived

Please see this important message from the Bureau of Child Development and Head Start Collaboration.

Recently it came to our attention that the Department must adopt rules relative to our Early Childhood Professional Development System credentialing. As we move forward with the rules development process, all fees to obtain credentials will be waived. This policy will be in effect until the rule is adopted.
