NEW: Soccer Adopts Hydration Breaks Beginning this Season
The NAIA will require two hydration breaks for men's and women's soccer games when the Wetbulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) is 86 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. A WBGT device must be used. This rule is effective for the 2019 season.

NEW: National Office New Hires
Brett Iliff is the new director of corporate sponsorships. He previously managed sponsorships for the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America for six years. He's a graduate of the University of Missouri - Kansas City where he was also the captain of the golf team.

KK (Kalyn) Shepherd has been hired as the coordinator of student-athlete health and wellness. KK currently works in the NAIA Eligibility Center and will transition to her new role in September.
NEW: Fall Opening Round Facility Certifications
Member schools who wish to bid to host a national championship opening round for 2019-20 must have their facility certified to host. (Once approved, certifications last for five years.) The deadline for the certification application is Oct. 15, 2019 for soccer and volleyball  and Jan. 1, 2020 for baseball and softball. Facilities that were denied last year and have made facility improvements are encouraged to reapply.
Rules Interpretations Available
Coaches will now have free access to the same rule videos and bulletins through the Arbiter Officiating Hubs. Access becomes available once each sports hub opens for registration. Please visit the online clinic for more information.
Eligibility
NEW: Summer Transcripts; Extended Fee Waiver Policy
  • Students enrolled in classes this summer will be required to submit final summer grades beginning September 2, 2019 in order to receive an eligibility decision. Students with summer 2019 enrollment who do not submit transcripts complete through summer 2019 will not be placed in line for review.

  • The relaxed fee waiver policy, originally slated to end in August, has been extended through October. See this week’s eligibility center tech update for details.

  • Call wait times continue to be long due to high call volumes. Our members are invited to use the member hotline: 816-595-8304, which has much shorter hold times.

Partnerships
NEW: NAIA Renews Partnership with eTeamSponsor
eTeamSponsor (eTS) signed a three-year renewal of its partnership with the NAIA, which will run through 2022. eTS provides an online fundraising platform which helps athletics programs reach more donors and increase the amount raised. To date, more than $4.3 million has been raised by NAIA institutions through eTS.
NEW: REELY Signs Three-Year Deal

REELY is now the official partner of the NAIA for providing real-time clips, highlights, and condensed games during its national championships for the 2019-2022 seasons.
NEW: Hudl Named Official Video Technology Solution of the NAIA

The NAIA signed a three-year partnership with Hudl , making the company the "Official Video Technology Solution" for the association. The agreement will ensure that film exchange, which occurs during any NAIA postseason event, will use Hudl. The deal will also encompass Hudl's camera technology, which was named the "Automated Video Capture Solution of the NAIA."
