April 1: Eligibility center cancellations begin for students with winter 2019-20 or spring 2020 applications. PlayNAIA’s term for decision will also be set to fall 2020.

NEW: Feedback Opportunity for Financial Aid Task Force Recommendations
The Financial Aid Task Force will bring recommendations to the Council of Presidents (COP) for approval at the convention in March. However, it is not too late to provide feedback . The complete financial aid report is now available, as well as background information and the data analyzed. All feedback submitted will be shared with the conference-specific COP member prior to convention. Please submit feedback no later than Wednesday, March 18.
NEW: NEC Call for Nominations
The Council of Faculty Athletics Representatives (CFAR) is seeking nominations for an open position on the National Eligibility Committee (NEC). The individual selected for the position will serve an observation and orientation period during the 2020-21 academic year and become a full voting NEC member for the 2021-22 academic year when his or her five-year term begins.

NEW: InCred Webinar March 12, 2020
The NAIA Eligibility Center's policy change to require international documents be submitted through InCred will come into effect in January 2021. This webinar will inform staff at NAIA member schools of InCred processes and changes to assist with recruiting, admissions, and eligibility.
 
Please register for "The Process: InCred Required for International Documents" on Mar 12, 2020 1:00 PM CDT. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about the webinar.
Year-End Report to Incorporate ROA Data
To better support the NAIA's Return on Athletics® (ROA) initiative, the year-end report will change in 2020. The submission date will move from September 1 to December 1, 2020. While the report will continue to collect some of the current information, new ROA data fields will also be required. By providing these data, schools will gain access to ROA Insights , a data analytics tool which shows how athletics can affect the overall health of an institution, specifically through enrollment, student success, and financial viability.

NEW: Cascade Collegiate Conference Extends Cross Country Championship Host Agreement
An extension agreement between the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) and the NAIA will extend the CCC as host of the NAIA Cross Country National Championships in 2021 and 2023. The NAIA is currently seeking a host for the event in 2022 and 2024.


NEW: Opening Round Bid Opportunities

The NAIA is accepting host bids for opening rounds for both softball and baseball . The submission deadlines are April 1 and April 10, respectively. Football is also accepting host site bids for the 2021 and 2022 national championships with a June 1, 2020 deadline.

NEW: Extension Signed with Big Game USA
The NAIA has extended its partnership with Big Game USA as the "Official Football of the NAIA" for five more years. This guarantees that Big Game footballs are the only ones used during NAIA postseason play through 2024.

April 1: Cancellations & Term Change

Application Cancellations
Beginning April 1, 2020, cancellations (previously referred to as inactivation) will begin for students with winter 2019-20 or spring 2020 applications. Applications will be cancelled only for students who:
  • are registered for a winter 2019-20 or spring 2020 application, 
  • have not completed a task since March 1, and
  • are not yet in line for review.
 
Students whose applications are cancelled and need an eligibility decision in a subsequent term will need to have their NAIA school start a new application on their behalf. Students will also receive this information via email.

Term for Decision Changes
PlayNAIA’s systematic term for decision will be set to Fall 2020, effective April 1, 2020.
 
As a reminder, registration fees are based on the student’s type upon registration. Students who have not yet paid the registration fee or who reapply after previously registering and paying the fee may be required to pay the difference if their student type changes on April 1.
