NEW: Eligibility Center Technology Update
The eligibility center’s technology partners have released a number of fixes to the new PlayNAIA site this week including:

  • Ability to apply multiple filters to the short list
  • Permission for high school and registrar users to approve and invite additional staff
  • Updated email communications

Now that these fixes are live, our technology partners are working to quickly resolve any remaining access issues members may be experiencing.

Championships
NEW: NAIA Marathon Under Review

The National Administrative Council (NAC) voted in June to suspend the marathon at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, pending further study of the event and the health and safety of its participants. A task force will review multiple options, some of which include:

  • How participants qualify
  • Marathon course
  • Moving the event to a another date and location
  • How to acclimatize student-athletes to be better prepared for the event

Feedback from membership is encouraged. Please contact one of the task force members to share your thoughts.

The task force recommendation will be heard by the NAC Executive Committee in August 2019.
News
NEW: Arvid Johnson Named COP Chair
Dr. Arvid Johnson, president of the University of St. Francis (Ill.), has been elected the new chair of the Council of Presidents (COP), effective July 1.
NEW: National Office Updates
Chesney Sallee has been named vice president of membership value and governance. Sallee, who previously served as the director of membership services, has been with the NAIA for eight years.

Ellen Ramsey has been named director of the eligibility center. She previously served as the associate director of eligibility services for four years.

Abbey Risenhoover has been promoted to association director of eligibility services. Previously she was the team lead of eligibility services.
New Basketball Rules

Men's and women's basketball rule changes have been approved for the 2019-20 season. All rules will be implemented this season except for the three-point lines moving back on the men's side. This will be implemented in the 2020-21 season.

Register for the NACE National Convention

Registration for the 2019 NACE National Convention is open! Harrisburg University in Harrisburg, Penn. will host the event, which takes place July 17-19.
