JustFaith Racial Justice Series: Faith and Racial Equity
Our Lady of Guadalupe is launching JustFaith’s “Faith and Equity: Exploring Power and Privilege” module in mid-January around Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. In these COVID times, we can expand our conversation to include people from all over the Archdiocese! This small group program awakens participants to the economic systems, public policies, cultural norms, and hidden biases that empower some and oppress others. Learn how Jesus’ teachings in the Gospel of Luke guide us in seeking racial justice in today’s world. Gain practical tools for becoming anti-racist and for effecting change in our communities. The program calls us to transformation and, as such, asks us to put in the work. Participants attend eight 2 ½ hour weekly sessions, an opening retreat, and an immersion experience as well as read two books. Cost is $20 plus the cost of the books (~$40 if all new). Weekday, weeknight, and weekend options available.
