Come Join us this Sunday, August 30th to Hear Foster Peterson, Seminarian, preach at both services and for a Celebration and Send Off!!

On Sunday we get the opportunity to hear Foster Peterson preach at both services and afterwards we will celebrate and give thanks for Foster Peterson, parish member and Seminarian for his faithful ministry and servant heart among us. He has been assigned to St. James Episcopal Church, Marietta, GA for his 3rd year contextual education assignment for the next year. Foster has been an incredible gift to ECA as a member and especially as a Seminarian these past years and we will miss him greatly during this part of his formation. All our love and Prayers for Foster and we can't wait till his graduation and Ordination to the diaconate and the priesthood!    

Vestry Investor Spotlight This Week: Carol Scheidler

Carol Scheidler is our Vestry Investor spotlight this week. Over the years, Carol has served our church in countless ways, including as a Vestry member, a member of the choir, and Team Lead for the Altar Guild. She is also instrumental in Southern Comforters, whose dedicated members lovingly make hundreds of blankets each year for those in our community who need comfort and care. Carol’s servant heart and willingness to give her time and talents have touched so many ministries at ECA. We are incredibly grateful for Carol and all the ways she continues to invest in ECA!

ECA Men’s Group Outing Saturday, August 29 at 4pm: American Axes 

The men of ECA are meeting at American Axes 821 Livingston Cr. Ste. G Marietta ($18-20 p/p) for Axe throwing and fellowship followed by an optional visit to the neighboring brewery.  Reservations recommended. See Steve Barrella for more info.  

ECA 40th Anniversary Celebration continues with a trip to Mercier Orchards on October 3, 2026 from 9am - 4pm!

Join us Saturday, October 3rd for a day in North Georgia and Mercier Orchards. Experience a tractor ride, apple picking, shopping, wine tasting and lunch (additional expense required).  Optional group transportation available via bus ($10 limit 28 people/ sign up in Narthex). Contact Bliss Peterson or Debbie Hreha with questions. 

More Details: Transportation via the shared bus is optional, but the church is largely subsidizing a mini bus that can accommodate up to 28 people who would like to ride up and back. We need a minimum of 25 people to ride, and the cost to you will be $10 per person. WE NEED THOSE WHO WANT TO RIDE TO SIGN UP AND PAY ASAP (sign up in Narthex or talk to Bliss Peterson or Debbie Hreha.). Of course, you are welcome to transport yourself and meet us up there (you can even caravan along with the bus!)

All activities at the Orchard and lunch are optional and at additional expense. Tractor rides to the orchard are $8 pp, Self-picking a bag of apples is $12. Wine and hard cider is available by the glass, and a wine flight (sampler of three) is $15. Join Us!!

ECA Reach Collecting Canned Goods for the Ministries we Support

ECA Supports Encompass Ministries and Never Alone by donating canned goods and non-perishables. Please bring donations on Sunday and place them in the baskets provided. During these difficult times these items are greatly needed.  

ECA 40th Anniversary Events all through Fall 2026. Make plans to Come Join us!!!

Join us in celebrating our 40th year as ECA!  Activities and Events are scheduled throughout the year.  We had a blast at the Lakeside service and Family Fun Day at Lake Allatoona.  There is an upcoming an Anniversary Cruise on Royal Caribbean (5 Night Western Caribbean) Sep 21-26 with spots still available.  We will be apple picking and wine tasting in North Georgia (transportation available) on October 3rd.  Other events include an Investors Dinner on January 30th, an ECA cookbook and 40th Celebration service on April 24th with all-day events to follow. We Hope you will enjoy the festivities as we celebrate 40 years of ministry!
