The Season of Comfort Food
While I've enjoyed summer's longer daylight hours and heat, there is something so cozy about Autumn and its changing leaves, as well as the chill outside and warmth inside. Here in the Northwest, temperatures have dipped and our mountains are accumulating snow.

This cute pumpkin growing in a neighborhood garden shows off some Fall color.

Autumn is jam-packed with holidays - Halloween, Veterans Days, Thanksgiving, and even the just-around-the-corner Christmas.

Apple cinnamon bread - made by a friend.

Whether it's butternut squash soup, chicken-and-dumplings, pumpkin pie, or the go-to comfort of macaroni-and-cheese, Autumn is when I'm at my most nostalgic, thinking of past holidays, and making comfort food meals from favorite family recipes.
