The Second Sunday after Epiphany
Eucharist Zoom Link
January 16, 2022 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend)
Almighty God, to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hid: Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy Name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Collect of the Day

Almighty God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ is the light of the world: Grant that your people, illumined by your Word and Sacraments, may shine with the radiance of Christ's glory, that he may be known, worshipped, and obeyed to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Psalm 36:5-10

5 Your love, O Lord, reaches
to the heavens, *
and your faithfulness to the clouds.

6 Your righteousness is like the strong mountains, your justice like
the great deep; *
you save both mortals and beasts, O Lord.

7 How priceless is your love, O God! *
Your people take refuge under
the shadow of your wings.

8 They feast upon the abundance
of your house; *
you give them drink from
the river of your delights.

9 For with you is the well of life, *
and in your light we see light.

10 Continue your loving-kindness to those who know you, *
and your favour to those
who are true of heart.

The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father,
Through whom all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand
of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord,
the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son
is worshiped and glorified.
She has spoken through the Prophets.

We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for
the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Confession & Absolution
Let us confess our sins against God, our neighbors, and ourselves:

God of all mercy,
we confess that we have sinned against you, resisting your power in our lives.
We have not honored you in ourselves, in each other, and in the world which you have made. Reach out your saving arm and rescue us. Forgive, restore, and strengthen us through our Savior Jesus Christ, that we may abide in your love and serve only your will for your people and all creation. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on you, forgive you all your sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen you in all goodness,
and by the power of the Holy Spirit,
keep you in eternal life.
the Peace of the Lord be always with you!
la paz del Señor sea siempre con ustedes.
Y con tu espíritu!

The Holy Communion

The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give God thanks and praise.

It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. Because in the mystery of the Word made flesh, you have caused a new light to shine in our hearts, to give the
knowledge of your glory in the face of your son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Therefore we praise you, joining our voices with Angels and Archangels and with all the company of heaven, who for ever sing this hymn to proclaim the glory of your Name:

We give thanks to you, O God, for the goodness and love which you have made known to us in creation; in the calling of Israel to be your people; in your Word spoken through the
prophets; and above all in the Word made flesh, Jesus, your Son. For in these last days you sent him to be incarnate from the Virgin Mary, to be the Savior and Redeemer of the world.

In Christ, you have delivered us from evil, and made us worthy to stand before you. In Christ, you have brought us out of error into truth, out of sin into righteousness, out of death into life.

On the night before he died for us, our Lord Jesus Christ took bread; and when he had given thanks to you, he broke it, and gave it to his disciples, and said, "Take, eat: This is my Body,
which is given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me."

After supper he took the cup of wine; and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and said, "Drink this, all of you: This is my Blood of the new Covenant, which is shed for you
and for all for the forgiveness of sins. Whenever you drink it, do this for the remembrance of me."

Therefore according to his command O Father:
We remember Christ's death.
We proclaim Christ's resurrection.
We await Christ's coming in glory.
.
And we offer our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving to you, O Lord of all; presenting to you, from your creation, this bread and this wine.
We pray you, gracious God, to send your Holy Spirit upon these gifts that they may be the Sacrament of the Body of Christ and his Blood of the new Covenant. Unite us to your
Son in this sacrifice, that we may be acceptable through Christ, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

In the fullness of time, put all things in alignment with your Christ, and bring us to that heavenly country where, with blessed Mary the Godbearer, blessed Martin and Luke all your saints, we may enter the everlasting heritage of your children, your daughters and sons; through Jesus Christ our Lord, the firstborn of all creation, the head of the Church, and the author of our salvation.

By Christ, and with Christ, and in Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit all honor and glory is yours, Almighty God, now and for ever. AMEN.

prayer of spiritual communion

In union, Blessed Jesus, with the faithful gathered at every altar of your Church where your Blessed Body and Blood are offered this day, and remembering particularly the St. Mary's, St. Martin's and St. Luke's church communities, we offer you praise and thanksgiving, for creation and all the blessings of this life, for the redemption won for us by your life, death, and resurrection, for the means of grace and the hope of glory.

We believe that you are truly present in the Holy Sacrament, and since we cannot at this time receive communion, we pray you to come into our hearts. We unite ourselves with you and one another, and we embrace you with all our hearts, our souls, and minds. Let nothing separate us from you; let us serve you in this life until, by your grace, we come to your glorious kingdom and unending peace. Amen.

Blessings & Dismissal
May God the Father, who led the magi by the shining of a star to find the Christ, the Light from light, lead you also in your pilgrimage to find the Lord. Amen.

May God the Son, who turned water into wine at the wedding feast at Cana, transform your lives and make glad your hearts. Amen.

May God the Holy Spirit, who came upon the beloved Son at his baptism in the river Jordan, pour out gifts on you who have come to the waters of new birth. Amen.

Let us go forth in the name of Christ!
Thanks be to God.
Demos gracias a Dios!
