Sunday Service and Annual Church Picnic   

Our Sunday Service on September 8th will be held at Moseley Woods Park at the Pavilion beginning at 10:00am.

Following the service is our Annual Parish Picnic! 
 
Please bring a side dish, salad, chips, drinks and/or desserts to share. And don't forget chairs or blankets to keep comfortable! There's an awesome playground and walking trails - bring friends and furred friends! 
 
 
Please note there will be no 8AM service this day.

Moseley Woods Park
Overlooking the Merrimack River in historic Newburyport, MA, Moseley Woods is a 16-acre public park featuring hiking trails, picnic tables, a playground and a spacious pavilion. A haven for nature lovers, dog walkers and children.
We return to two services on Sunday, September 15th at 8am, Holy Eucharist Rite I and at 10am, Holy Eucharist, Rite II with Choir and Christian Education. On this Sunday, at the 10am service, we will celebrate the Baptism of Mickey Christopher Morrissey, son of Sean and Nicole Morrissey.

Celebration of Life in Remembrance of Eleanor Yarranton

There will be a Celebration of the Life of Eleanor Yarranton on Saturday, September 28th at 11:00am. Everyone is invited to a gathering at Crave Restaurant following the Celebration.
September Vestry Meeting

St. James' Vestry meets on Wednesday, September 11th at 7pm in Fr. John's office. Parish Members are welcome to come to the meeting to observe.
Women on the Journey

 Women on the Journey meeting scheduled for Saturday, September 28th has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 19th. Further details with be forthcoming.

On September 28th there is a Celebration of Life in Remembrance of Eleanor Yarranton.
Cherub Chapel

It's playful worship time for "the young and restless" and a chance for caregivers to mingle: simple and fun prayers, games, songs, snack, conversations and togetherness!

Little ones and caregivers: join us on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, 3:30 - 4:15 pm in our Parish Hall. Everyone is invited (no church registration needed); it's free!

September 8, 10am: Join us at Moseley Woods in Newburyport for outdoor worship, an awesome playground, our parish potluck picnic - and take a moment to register children for Godly Play and Weaving God's Promises classes!

Church school registration is open year-round. Fill in a form at church, or download a form here and return it to our office. Happy new school year!

All year long, at the back of the sanctuary, there are always fresh activities and materials for babies and children to use and enjoy, while absorbing the rhythms of the church service. (There's a rocking chair, too!) Come to church, we love to worship with you!

Here's more info about two great Diocesan offerings:
Middle School Retreat at the Barbara C. Harris Camp, November 15-17 . T he weekend features small group workshops, indoor and outdoor games, worship to get everyone moving and thinking, music by a live band, and time to get away from the rush of everyday routines - in order to pay more attention to the Spirit of God in our lives. Scholarship support is available, as is transportation. (Grades 5-9. Registration closes when capacity is reached, or on Nov. 10. Register online here . Or drop Linda a note , if you're interested; we'll coordinate our St James participation!)

Our Neighbors' Table

We are collecting non-perishable food for the cooler months ahead for Our Neighbors' Table. Personal items are always needed also. Items may be left in the basket at the back of the church - they are brought to our altar for a blessing.
