Part II: How to Cultivate an Inclusion Mindset
Featuring Guest Speaker: Kisha Dixon, The Training Associates
The Series for Racial Equity & Inclusion invites you attend the second seminar and community conversation on race, equity, and inclusion.
Recent events and deeper realizations about the lived experiences of people of color and other marginalized groups have sparked a wave of conversations about racism, inequity, and social justice around the world. These discussions are happening at work, in social media, and with friends and family—in the middle of an unprecedented pandemic, no less. People are talking about it, feeling it, and showing a genuine desire to educate themselves on how to be inclusive with those who are different—regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.

Join us for an open and honest conversation—to empower an empathetic mindset that sparks a change in behavior, encourages others, and promotes a culture of diversity & inclusion and belonging. This interactive and engaging virtual training experience will include activities to help you examine your own personal biases and how they impact the way you see and participate in the world around you.

Audience Takeaways & Outline:

  • Explore how our circle of influence informs unconscious racial and cultural bias
  • Understand the relationship between bias and racism—how does it grow?
  • Explore how choosing language of empathy and inclusion can change the way we see things—and how others respond
  • Discover simple things you can do to confront your own unconscious bias through learning and exposure to racial and cultural experiences different from your own
