Jefferson Center (JC) started 2022 stronger than ever! JC Presents returned to a full schedule of performances with many sold-out shows. Student participation in the Harry and Lavon Webb Youth Enrichment and Arts Education Center has expanded to include onsite, in-person instruction, and community outreach at many schools and youth organizations. Partner organization shows have been back to a regular schedule with the community stages in use most weekends and many weekdays. We have continued to increase event rentals and are providing many community and business groups with full-scale event planning services.
The future feels much more confident for the live performance sector than it did a year ago. As we look toward next year and the planning of another season of inspirational performances, we are at a pivotal moment in time. JC is fully immersed in a comprehensive strategic planning process that will guide our thinking and direction for the next five years. Our goal is to have this plan ready to present to our board for approval this summer. I look forward to sharing it with you afterwards as one of our most valued stakeholders. Your thoughts and participation will be critical as we work to advance the performing arts through enriching cultural experiences and community engagement.
We could not do our work at the magnitude that we do without you. Your belief in what we do and continued generosity prepared us for the strong return we are experiencing. Thank you for helping us to fulfill our mission of bringing unparalleled transformative arts and cultural experiences to the Roanoke Valley.
As I consider the promise and thrill of the 2022-23 season, I want you to be among the first to know about some of the amazing artists we are booking for next year and other updates about our programs.
Your gifts have spread much joy through the support of dynamic music and music education. Thank you for making it all possible.
