This has been a busy month of comings and goings for the Alexandria Commission for Women.
First, we would like to thank Ms.
, two-term Chair of the Commission for Women, for her tireless support and leadership over the past few years to ensure equality for Alexandria’s women. Kendra will continue to serve as a Commissioner. However, she will pass the Chair torch to
. The executive committee also includes First Vice Chair
and Second Vice Chair
The new executive committee is ready to lead the Commission to the next phase of championing issues impacting women and girls in our city. We hope to start implementation of the report recommendations that the Commission launched in 2018 on the Status of Women in Alexandria. We have a lot of work to do on the many recommendations that we hope to accomplish in the coming years to make Alexandria a more equitable city for women and girls. We encourage all residents to read
on the Status of Women in Alexandria.
