The Contemplative Group at St. Patrick’s supports parishioners who have an interest in beginning or maintaining a practice of Centering Prayer. We notify members of opportunities to deepen this spiritual practice through readings, workshops, seminars or retreats. If you have an interest in learning more about this powerful practice, and perhaps accompanying one or more of us to a retreat, please contact Bonnie Stephenson, Sharon McWhorter or Anne Duncan to discuss.

The next retreat, Call to Personal and Global Transformation,  will be held at Ignatius House on June 6-9, 2019. Please respond to Bonnie Stephenson ( [email protected] ) if you would like to attend with her. For reservations, click here .

“Humanity as a whole, needs a breakthrough into the contemplative dimension of life. This is the Life at the heart of the world. There the human family is already one. If one goes to one’s own heart, one will find oneself in the heart of everyone else, and all in the heart of the Ultimate Mystery.”  -- Thomas Keating

Transformation for Ministry
A Summer Intensive Offering from Mother Julia+

Transformation for Ministry is a class grounded in the exploration of transformational practices to attend to the nurturing of spaciousness for the growth of freedom, joy, and courage in discipleship, prophetic imagination, and ministry of presence.

Because creation of community is an essential part of this experience, committed attendance at all classes, as well as completion of assigned practices, readings, and reflective writing is expected. The workload is not heavy, but a commitment to regular practice and completion is essential.

The dates for this offering are:

Sunday, June 16, 1-3 p.m.
Tuesday, June 18, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m
Thursday, June 20, 11 a.m - 1 p.m.
Sunday, June 23, 1-3 p.m.
Tuesday, June 25, 11 a.m.- 1 p.m.
Thursday, June 27, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Sunday, August 4, 1 - 3 p.m.
Sunday, August 11, 1- 3 p.m.

Pre-registration is required. Deadline for registration is Wednesday, June 12, 2019. Please email Mo. Julia+, ( [email protected] ), to register or for further questions.
A Residential Retreat to the Abbey on Iona

After talking with Fr. Dick around a Hinton campfire some two years ago, I have been working to find a time to get a group together to experience what this most special and Holy island has to offer.

I have visited 3 times, each pilgrimage led by my then parish priest in the City of London, a member of the Iona community. He is now the Dean of Montreal and Rector of Christ Church Cathedral, Montreal, Canada. Together, we are hoping to take a group of his parishioners with a group from St Pat’s.

Please talk with me or email if you are interested in learning more. It would be helpful to have a ballpark number and list of names.

At this stage, we are waiting on the Iona Community programming for 2020 to be published. As a member of the community, Fr. Bertrand will get an early head’s up. We may need to be ready to make a decision about a programmed week quickly as both The Abbey and MacLeod Centre book up very early and are currently being re-furbished.

We imagine the first date a trip might be possible is August or September 2020 but we may have to wait until 2021.
