This Sunday we will be celebrating our graduating high school seniors in worship and after the service. We are recognizing and celebrating eight seniors this year! Many of them have grown up at St. Andrew and all have been involved in some way since they were children. This year’s graduates are Audrey Cook, Jacob Fritz, Macy Garcia, Annie Griffin, Charles Guerrero, Hanna Haddad, Caroline Konkle, and Trey Phillips. All the seniors will be involved in worship this week sharing their words or talents with the congregation. Of course, we will have the senior memories video, so bring your tissues!
The celebration of our high school seniors is a joyful tradition at St. Andrew, and the Youth Committee is excited to return to the pre-Covid tradition of a celebration lunch after worship. Please join us in Fellowship Hall for a potluck luncheon with meat provided by Mike Barnett. Bring your favorite side dish or bread to share. You will have an opportunity to write notes of congratulations to each senior during that time.
We are also excited to announce the return of the baked goods auction this Sunday. All donations of baked items are welcome: cakes, pies, cookies, bread, etc. Please drop off your baked item in Fellowship Hall either before Sunday school or before the worship service. Richard Culp, auctioneer extraordinaire, will present these delicious items after lunch for everyone to bid on. Funds raised will help support the youth mission trip to Alabama this summer.
Please plan to join us in celebration and community on Sunday!
In God’s grace,
Stephanie

Final Super Wednesday
and Lisa’s Clergy Renewal/Sabbatical Presentation
Wednesday, April 26
Lisa Patterson begins her Lilly Foundation-supported sabbatical on May 1. The Lilly Foundation Clergy Renewal Grant process asks those making a grant request to answer, “What makes your heart sing?” Lisa’s answer to this question is gathering at tables for renewal, worshiping in new ways for revival, and reflecting on the experiences for new awakening. She will talk about the ways that her sabbatical plan makes room for these types of experiences for her personally, and as a congregation in Lilly Foundation sponsored sabbatical events at St. Andrew. Come and gather at tables together to hear more on Wednesday, April 26, during Super Wednesday. The Noel and Covenant Choirs will also be recognized at 6:30pm with the sabbatical presentation following.

Parents' Night Out
New date: April 22, 2023
Parents’ Night Out is a program for the young families of St. Andrew. The program has a two-fold purpose: it gives parents an opportunity to spend quality time together without their children and it gives the children an evening of fun, age-appropriate activities with their friends at St. Andrew. The evening runs from 4:00pm to 8:00pm for infants-5yrs old in the Nursery. In the Rec Center, Kindergarten-elementary age will meet 4:00pm to 9:00pm, with pick-up from the media room in the main church building. Register on Realm or email Karen Raabe at karen@standrewdenton.com.

5th Sunday Mission at St. Andrew
The Mission Committee is beginning a new mission ministry to address needs in the community, nationally, and globally, and it is inviting church members of every age to participate. We can’t do this without you!
On the 5th Sunday of each month of the calendar, we will gather as a community of faith before worship and do “hands on” mission work before worship. This month, in response to the earthquake in Turkey and Syria and now in the wake of the tornado in Mississippi, we will pack hygiene kits for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.
Just like on mornings spent packing needed food for “Kids Against Hunger,” we will have work for all ages to help assemble and pack together. We will complete our task of assembling and packing for shipping 500 hygiene kits before worship.
5th Sunday Mission is being done with the support of the Ruth Anderson Endowment and Birthday Fund Committee, who is helping fund the needed supplies for the mission. We are grateful for the lives of the faithful who have gone before us who have left legacies of endowments that support our efforts beyond the church budget. Your ongoing financial support of the Birthday Fund is also vital in helping ministries flourish.
Come and help pack on Sunday, April 30, and then we will worship together. If you want to help before April 30, you can donate items for the hygiene kits. Bring any of these supplies to the church narthex before April 15 or you can give online. Use the drop down menu and choose “5th Sunday Mission” to give or place a check in the offering plate. Questions? Contact Russ Tillman at k5nrk@bellsouth.net.

Mother’s Day Gift Bags
St. Andrew donates Mother’s Day Gift Bags each year to give encouragement and hopefully bring a bright spot into lives of the homeless and less fortunate moms in our community. We are requesting help from the congregation in the form of new personal care and beauty products or if you’d like us to do the shopping, a monetary donation would be appreciated as well! Give online at standrewdenton.com/give by selecting "Mother's Day Gift Bags" from the fund drop down menu. Deadline for all donations is Sunday, May 7. For more information, contact Tara Brindle at jtckbrindle@sbcglobal.net.
