Preparing for the Summer Season
Summer is nearly upon us. Soon it will be the time when tourists begin flocking to the beach and families come to the coast to enjoy laidback ocean waves and sunny days.

Last year, Ocean Shores saw a record number of visitors to our community, and with the COVID pandemic on the wane and people looking to travel again, the Ocean Shores business community may very well experience bustling days ahead.

In addition, summer events and festivals are back! The Five Star Dealership’s Sand and Sawdust Festival, complete with woodcarving and sandcastle contests, takes place June 25-27. Next up, the 4th of July celebration brings countless patriotic fireworks enthusiasts to the town’s beaches to enjoy our Independence Day festivities. At the end of July, the Ocean Shores Convention Center hosts Hog Wild Ocean Shores on the 23-25, attracting motorcycle enthusiasts from across the Pacific Northwest to our city.

Together, we have an amazing opportunity to have a strong, safe and successful summer. My respect goes out to every business owner and employee who makes the Ocean Shores business community a remarkable place to be.
Opened by Jeff and Sara Alexander in 2019, Dirty Dogs Self Dog Wash was inspired by their four German Shorthair Pointers as a hassle-free safe place for community members and tourists to wash their dogs.

Dirty Dogs offers state-of-the-art 50-inch stainless steel tubs that can accommodate any size fur baby. The grated tub floors elevate for small dogs and the facility has a door and ramp system for larger dogs. The wash bins are roomy and safe and helps prevent the owner from bending over or being on their knees to wash their beloved pet. Everything you need is provided with reasonable prices based on weight of the dog, including flea and tick shampoo and conditioner, upon request. Dirty Dogs also has safe products for every occasion, including those times when your dog rolls in something dead or stinky and requires their three-stage deodorizing system, so no smelly car ride home! Nail trimming services are available. Not having to clean up dog hair is priceless!

If you don’t have time to wash your dog, or are simply looking for a break from the chore, the staff are more than happy to assist for a small added fee. Appointments can be made on their Facebook page or by calling (360) 660-5578. Be sure to pick up a punch card to redeem high quality treats, toys, and accessories.

Come on over and spoil your dog!
