The other day someone came to see me in my office. Seeing the door open they walked right in.
Later that day I saw the fellow who I was expecting and asked him why he never showed.
He said to me, “Rabbi, I came to the office and I noticed the door was open. I walked in, however, you were sleeping. So I quietly walked back out.”
I turned red and thanked him for not waking me while feeling utterly humiliated.
“Please come again.” I said.
I related the story to my children last night and soon enough (after they found an old picture of me) I realized: “The more things change, the more they remain the same.”
Above you can see a picture of me from over sixty years ago.
As you can see, things haven’t changed much.
“Happiness consists of getting enough sleep!”
