A Message from the Head of School
On Wednesday we celebrated the 100th day of school. It was a wonderful day, full of special events. Our classroom teachers had exciting activities - 100 piece puzzles, writing a book: "Things We've Been Told 100 Times," counting by 10's and 100's, just to name a few. Our Student Council held a Crazy Hat and Hair Day in celebration, and our PTO sponsored a Hot Chocolate 100th Day party. My favorite activity was every student contributing to our 100 things we love about our school bulletin board. They included loving that our older and younger students get to be together often, our special events and field trips, our amazing teachers, that people are really kind and being in a Jewish school. Their notes showed just how much the students value our school!

Our Middah (value) this week is c hesed (kindness). Our students spent the week making a point to go out of their way to be kind to others, and notice when they are receiving kindness from others. They appreciated both the smaller things, like sharing a pencil and holding a door, and the bigger things like making a meal for someone who is recovering from surgery or making the time to help someone study for a test. Rabbi Muroff was our guest this morning to share his thoughts on c hesed. He shared that the little things that people do for one another can have a profound impact. His teaching inspired a few of our students to go out of their way to say thank you to people around the school who have helped them. It was lovely to see the students internalizing this week's Middah and incorporating it into their daily life.

Shabbat Shalom,

A Peek Inside Our Classes
4th & 5th Grade
Mrs. Wenzelburger
While learning about colonial America, the fourth and fifth grade class made a colonial town map and 3-D models of buildings. All students worked together to create a map of their town. While doing this, they had to decide where the buildings should be placed and what buildings their small town would need to survive. They also created individual building models out of shoe boxes and other materials. Students had to learn about their building, and then bring it to life.
Ganeinu
Morah Tamara

On Tuesday, the Ganeinu students delivered place mats made on Martin Luther King Jr. Day by K-8 grades, to Jewish Family Services (JFS) to be used by Kosher Meals on Wheels.
