The spring equinox officially arrives at 11:33am today. Now is the season of renewal and a fresh start.
It only takes a few warm days before the bitterness of winter is forgotten. Also, in a repeat of last year, we are once again hoping to forget the stress, sorrow, and losses of this lengthy pandemic. But as today's quote (see below) reminds us, the wisdom gained in the process is a blessing worth counting each day, especially if we are willing to learn from our mistakes,
Of course, an intact memory is most certainly another blessing to be counted, especially when you consider the odds of being diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer's in your golden years. What we love, how far we come, and who we know ourselves to be are precious thoughts stored carefully in our brains. When the neurological connections that allow us to tap into that information is compromised, such as in a case of dementia, the suffering is tragic. But it isn't inevitable.
Today's feature article shares a single key to unlocking your ability to keep Alzheimer's away. But in order for it to work, action must be taken quickly. The significance of making lifestyle changes decreases substantually when one waits until the quality of life becomes irreversibly poor.
The self-care for which I am advocating isn't just about us as individuals. It is also about those who love us. I am reminded of this when I see the smiling photo alongside the engagement announcement in this week’s news section.
Please consider the implications of the foods you choose. If you find the change I’m calling for to be too difficult, such as if your sugar addiction is too strong to overcome on your own, attend Tuesday evening’s cleanse preview to learn about a program that could give you the extra support you need to propel you towards a fresh and renewed you.
Stay Well, and do everything that you can to maintain your Health!
We’re here for you,
