  • Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you. Psalm 143:8
The Sin You Can’t Forget Is the Same Sin God Can’t Remember

So often the sin you can’t seem to ever forget, God has promised us to never ever remember again.

As believers, we are instructed to have the mind of Christ and think as He does (1 Corinthians 2:16). How does God think about your sin? Repentance is simply agreeing with God.

Many religious people want you to feel remorseful for your past sins, as if those emotional feelings of sorrow will impress God and convince Him to forgive you. The truth is we already have been forgiven at the cross. Our sins past, present, and future have all been removed. God isn’t holding our sins against us. He has forgiven and removed them forever. We must receive this wonderful news and allow our hearts to rest in this glorious peace we have with God.

Sure, you will sin and mess up again, but that does not mean you are unforgiven. It simply means the cross and blood of Jesus have secured your eternal forgiveness when you do, so you can live in peace.

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:1-2).

What should our response be? To thank God for His forgiveness and keep our hearts established in this truth so condemnation doesn’t rob us of knowing and walking in the peace of God. Your peace with God is solely based on what Jesus accomplished through His death, burial, and resurrection. He is our peace. Even on the day of judgment, the apostle John reminds us, “Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17).

If you can have “boldness” on the day of judgment, you can have it 24/7 because even when you sin, it does not change the fact that “As He is, so are YOU in this world.” Walking in this truth and experiencing this reality will give you power over sin, so you can live life as an overcomer.

So the next time you sin, simply agree with how God sees your sin and go in peace.

“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more”
(Hebrews 8:12).

“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:19).

“He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities” (Psalm 103:10).
