We Want Your Feedback On Call Boxes
Some Sincuidados homeowners have out-of-state cellphone numbers they kept after moving here. Currently, the community's three call boxes at the entry gates can dial only local area codes.

To enable the call boxes to dial out-of-state area codes, the HOA would need to pay for long distance service, costing approximately an additional $200 per month or $2,400 per year. The Board of Directors would like to learn how many homeowners are in favor of adding this service and expense.

Homeowners Meet About Streetscape
During a Zoom meeting last week, homeowners asked questions and provided feedback about the Streetscape Plan, a master landscaping plan for the community's common areas.

"The beauty of it again is, because it's a master plan, you don't have to do it all at once," said Jeffrey Denzak, an architect from Swaback, the firm preparing the plan. "By doing a master plan, you can have confidence that those capital investments that you make in the short term, they'll add value and won't become haphazard to things that you might want to do then in two years or five years."

The goal of the plan is to update the look and feel of the community’s street frontages, entrances, islands and clubhouse area with a consistent look. This will re-enforce Sincuidados' identity as a natural open space community.

"All these little things we think add value in terms of at the end of the day to your individual real estate," Jeffrey said.

The architect discussed the goal of enhancing the community by ensuring it blends with the desert environment's natural character.
Once the community finalizes the Streetscape plan and decides on various options, the board then would seek cost estimates and recommend a plan for implementation.

Please Don't Call Me A Chipmunk
Sincuidados homeowner Lynne Russell shot this photo of a Harris’s Antelope Squirrel. Lynne is a McDowell Sonoran Conservancy board member.

"Sincuidados is the ideal habitat for our little Harris’s Antelope Squirrels," Lynne said. "They prefer rocky desert habitats replete with shrubs and cacti. They live in underground burrows beneath our natural desert shrubs and trees. They enjoy cacti fruit and seeds as well as insects, mesquite beans and occasionally a mouse. We don’t know how they manage to avoid the sharp cacti spines as they savor the tasty fruit."
