Dear Friends and Neighbors,
It is with great excitement we write you!
Before we began remodeling The Siren, we knew we wanted to preserve the historical significance of the building. Even though saving an historic building is more costly than building from scratch, it is an endeavor we have relished.
When we began our renovations in January, the 100-year-old interior revealed a treasure trove of details, including gorgeous hardwood ceilings and warm red brick walls. Morro Bay residents and tourists alike remember Happy Jacks bar as part of our community's tangible past. As new owners, we felt the building not only deserved to be saved, but revived. Our aim is to maintain a sense of permanency and heritage of the bar for years to come.
After months of retrofitting, a myriad of steel beams and trusses have been installed to expose and preserve the beauty of the ceiling and brick walls. Replacement of the roof and final interior details are well underway as the rebirth of The Siren heads towards completion.
Thank you Morro Bay, for your patience and warm support throughout our remodel. We look forward to seeing you when we open this fall.
Cheers!
Kelly and Paul Boisclair
