Dr. Temple Grandin Speaks at WTAMU

Dr. Temple Grandin spoke to students and community members at an event in the Happy State Bank Academic and Research Building on Dec. 9.

A world-renowned expert in humane livestock handling and autism advocacy, Dr. Grandin has authored or co-authored over 50 scientific studies, received a Meritorious Achievement Award for Animal Health from the World Organization, was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame, and was featured as one of TIME Magazine's The 100 Most Influential People of 2010. Currently, Dr. Grandin serves as a professor of Animal Science at Colorado State University.

Students and the community were able to attend Dr. Grandin’s presentation for free, where they heard from her on a variety of topics including ethical livestock handling, her own insightful facility designs, how to create low stress environments for livestock and why this is significant. Following the presentation was a question and answer session, meet and greet, and a book signing.

Thank you so much to Dr. Temple Grandin for visiting WTAMU!
