Its creation was one of necessity when I sustained a substantial injury to my shoulder while snowboarding with our family in a blizzard in Vermont. I was trapped in a house there for days and could not tolerate any of the standard slings or immobilizers due to their claustrophobic feel and the pulling on my neck from their neck straps. Out of desperation, I cut the straps off my ski pants and attached them to a fanny pack supporting my arm! It gave me instant relief and allowed me to drive home in the blizzard for 12 hours, controlling my pain. The Doctor’s unique Snugging Belt System for the Doctor in the House full back brace line is like nothing else! It’s designed specifically to conform your back brace and its heat moldable panels to your back allowing you total control over what feels best!
Unlike most braces with tightening systems, the belt is designed to specifically tension lateral to the spine, (not pressing rigid panels into the spine directly), therefore less pressure centrally and supporting the lateral paraspinal musculature.
