Welcome to our new CoP members
During the week of February 26th, the city welcomed 22 talented and dedicated new hires to a variety of departments across the city. During their New Employee Experience week, they participated in various group activities, heard from department leadership, met and presented to our esteemed City Managers Office and Mayor, and learned all about our city’s values and mission. We look forward to working with them to ensure the future of the City of Pearland, The Community of Choice!
Spaghetti Tower Champs
During New Employee Experience, new hires get an opportunity to work together on several team projects and competitions. As practice in working on cross-functional teams, new hires worked to build towers out of spaghetti and marshmallows.
The team with the tallest tower, pictured left to right, included: Kelly Brown, Humera Ansari, River Zapata, Anderson Ford, Michael Buddo-Mighty, and Jaden Hunter.

Pearland Poster Winners
New hires also worked in teams to create drawings that represented Pearland and everything they learned during their new hire experience. The winning team earned a photo with Mayor Cole.
Pictured are: Salma Olivares, Elisa Olvera, Trevor Jackson, Mayor Cole, Genaro Trevino, Miguel Fonseca, and William Lindsey.

|
Fire Marshal & Dio in Action
As part of the onboarding experience, new hires get a chance to learn about each department. During last week's NEE, Fire Marshal Chad McCune and investigator Dio joined the group to teach them about the duties of the City's Fire Marshal's Office. The duo showcased his investigation skills when the Fire Marshal planted a small amount of accelerant on a Q-Tip leaving Dio to sniff it out.
