Cupcakes & Community: Celebrating 67 Years

🎉🧁 Today, March 9th, Peachtree City celebrated its 67th birthday, and residents stopped by to take part in the fun. Guests enjoyed cupcakes, picked up commemorative stickers, tried out temporary tattoos, and joined in other lighthearted activities to mark the occasion. The celebration brought neighbors together to share a few laughs and celebrate the community that has grown and thrived over the past 67 years. In true internet fashion, some younger residents even joked that the celebration was giving “six-seven energy”—a playful nod to the viral Gen Alpha meme—making the city’s 67th birthday feel both nostalgic and a little bit “brain-rot” fun. 🎉🧁

PTC 101 Class Kicks Off with

Government Structure and Finances

Last week, we kicked off the 2026 Peachtree City 101 (PTC101) program, welcoming this year’s cohort of residents eager to learn more about how their city government works and how their property taxes are distributed throughout city services.

Over the next eight weeks, participants will meet with various city departments and gain a deeper understanding of the services, programs, and initiatives that help keep Peachtree City a thriving community.

While applications are closed for the 2026 cohort, we encourage residents who are interested in learning more about their local government to apply when applications reopen in early 2027.

We look forward to seeing this group grow their knowledge and engagement in our community!

Women at Work with Southern Crescent Habitat

Mayor Kim Learnard, Library Services Director Jill Prouty, and Financial Services Director Kelly Bush rolled up their sleeves to help make a difference in the community, joining Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity as Women Build Ambassadors. The City Officials helped kick off the organization’s 2026 Women Build season. The effort brought volunteers together for a two-day home repair project in Peachtree City.

The volunteer build took place Friday and Saturday (March 6–7) in Peachtree City and supported a senior homeowner in need of essential home repairs. The project marked the official launch of this year’s Women Build season, which begins during Women’s History Month and continues through June in recognition of National Homeownership Month.

Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity program that celebrates the impact women have when they come together to strengthen communities. The initiative encourages volunteers to help families secure safe housing, complete critical home repairs, and contribute to neighborhood revitalization.

Through partnerships like Women Build, community leaders and volunteers continue to demonstrate how service and collaboration can improve residents’ lives while strengthening communities across Fayette, Clayton, and Henry counties.
