The answer is twofold… Many fellow Small Business Owner/Operators use TikTok quite effectively in marketing their goods and services; if a ban is imminent, I want my clients and colleagues to be aware, thus allowing them the opportunity to diversify their marketing efforts in the marketplace.

 

Owned by the Chinese tech giant Bytedance, TikTok has more than a billion users, including an estimated 135 million in the US, and some lawmakers have warned over the past two years that the Chinese government could use the app to collect data on Americans or launch influence operations through the platform. But the exact scope of the problem and goals remain uncertain.
