Program Updates
The SoCalREN Multifamily Financing Program is Here!
The SoCalREN Multifamily Financing Program offers convenient ways for building owners to access funding for energy-efficient equipment installed through the SoCalREN Multifamily Program. Our Multifamily Financing Program offers your customers the opportunity to fund equipment through an Energy Service Agreement—equipment is paid for using future savings and allows your customers to fund their projects without incurring debt.

We recently held three training sessions that allowed Contractors to get acquainted with the new Program. If you were not able to attend one of the training sessions, we will be releasing a recording of the training soon. Marketing materials describing the funding offer will be distributed to Participating Contractors free of charge.
Updated Fillable Intake Form—Available to Download
A new version of the fillable Intake Form is available to download on the website here. This new version has a few updates to help make filling out the Intake Form easier.
Incentive Estimation Tool
A new and convenient tool designed to help estimate project incentives has been added to the contractor website under Program References and Resources. This Project Incentive Estimation Sales Tool will be particularly effective during initial sales conversations with customers to help showcase the benefits of participating in the Program. Please reach out to your Account Manager if you have any questions on how to locate and utilize this new tool.

Reminder: The tool only shows an incentive estimation and should not be considered as a final incentive.
Contractor Spotlight
Optima Energy was founded in 2001. Our principal worked closely with multifamily communities to upgrade their sites primarily through utility rebate programs. It was a humble, one-man show servicing sites throughout California. Today we proudly display a branded fleet, over 30 employees, and an impressive track record of completed projects, but most importantly we share a collective drive to provide sustainable solutions with our client's best interests in mind.
What’s one thing you love about the work you do? The love and passion for what we do is consistently demonstrated by the efforts of our team. Our approach is unique as we focus heavily on client satisfaction and the environment. As a recently certified B Corp, we believe our company’s objectives align with making the environment a better place. Our strategies are not profit-driven, but rather focus to ensure we lower energy and water costs, drive value-added product(s), conserve our valuable resources, and reduce our overall carbon footprint. As a One Percent for the Planet Member, it is also quite satisfying to be able to leverage local utility and city municipality incentives to assist the customer in paying for each project, and in turn donate one percent to charitable causes which are focused on environmental initiatives.

What is your favorite part of participating in the SoCalREN Multifamily Program? SoCalREN's process, from beginning to end, is very easy to understand and the support and communication is impeccable. The strategy to combine incentives to provide multi-measure upgrades helps us leverage a comprehensive savings approach.

What has been your favorite project over the last few years? All the projects that we have completed with SoCalREN were great projects, but one that stands out is the Hillsborough Village project. This was a senior community with outdated lighting, water heaters, and more. We took a whole building approach on this project, and as a result, we improved their lighting system, reduced water usage, and installed state of the art water heaters/boilers. The owners of the property experienced significant savings.
