A Message from the Board of Supervisors
As the holiday season begins, the County of Sonoma would like to thank all first responders and volunteers for their tireless job to protect our communities from danger.
Our hearts go out to the residents of other counties and cities that have been swept by fires this year, since many of our very own community members know the impacts of such devastating events.
As we continue to rise from the ashes together, our County has been sending employees to assist with the recovery efforts in Butte County.
We can lend a helping hand now because together, we are strong, we are resilient, we are Sonoma County.

New Security Screening Measures to take Effect for Board of Supervisor Meetings
Beginning Tuesday, December 11, t
he County will require all individuals to pass through a metal detector, and let security personnel check any hand-carried items (i.e. backpacks, handbags, briefcases, purses, etc.) before entering the Board Chambers during Board of Supervisors meeting.
These security enhancements are part of a County-wide plan to ensure the safety of our employees and citizens, and their ability to express themselves safely during public meetings.
Individuals planning to attend the Board meetings should allow extra time to complete the screening process. The Board chambers will typically open 30 minutes ahead of the Board meeting start time.
The screening process will have to be repeated for all individuals leaving and re-entering the chambers.
We thank you in advance for your patience!
