 Note from Michelle

Hello friends! So much has been happening around Society! June is DISABILITY AWARENESS MONTH throughout Stanislaus, San Joaquin and Merced Counties. We have been busy attending meetings and accepting the proclamations. We are grateful to our partners in local government for recognizing the importance of celebrating those with different abilities. We encourage everyone to wear PURPLE on Fridays in June to celebrate Disability Awareness Month. Our newest program, Buddy Club, is in it's 4th month. This is our program for young adults 16+ to come and hang out with peers, do crafts, watch movies, eat snacks and play games. On May, 20 participants enjoyed bowling and pizza at Yosemite Lanes! We had a great time together full of laughter and friendship. UCP of Stanislaus is partnering with us on Buddy Club.
Our 2019 Wild West Gala: Jeans and Jewels is  all set for SATURDAY, SEPT 28th at the DURRER  BARN in Modesto! Tickets will be on sale in July! Sponsorship opportunities are available! At our Gala this year, we also plan to announce the start of our Capital Campaign. Society is in desperate need of a new and LARGER location. We have outgrown our current location by leaps and bounds (which is a good thing). We will need a lot of help from our community to make this happen. We hope that you will consider donating what you can to help us grow. A new location will help us to expand our services and programs. We are thankful for all of your support.

The Miss Stanislaus Spirit Princess Pageant has two new princesses for the 2019 term. We are pleased to announce that the  Little Miss Stanislaus Spirit Princess is Olivia Aguilar and the Teen Miss Stanislaus Spirit Princess is Michelle Ortiz. It was such an amazing and fun event for all of our lovely contestants and we can't wait to do it again next year! THANK YOU to all the volunteers, judges, escorts, visiting royalties and contestants for making this pageant one to remember!

Day on the Farm
Our annual Day on the Farm will be held on Saturday, June 22nd this year hosted by Jim Sanchez at Sanchez Farms in Oakdale, in honor and memory of Patti Sanchez. Patti Sanchez passed away April 27, 2019 after a courageous fight with cancer. We will be honoring Patti with fun and laughter at her favorite Society event. This day on a working farm provides a special treat of riding a horse or pony, planting in the garden, and a leisurely hayride through the orchards. The Oakdale Lions wrap up the day with a delicious Ranch Style BBQ!

Miracle League
We want to give a huge THANK YOU to all of our Miracle League volunteers for making this season one for the books! We had amazing Buddies that assisted one-on-one with Players, volunteers who helped check people as they came in, volunteers who helped set up and clean up, and the amazing coaches who helped lead the teams. Without all of your hard work and commitment, Miracle League wouldn't be what it is today. Let's continue this incredible momentum into the fall season!
