An Alarming Trend That You Can Help Change
The changing human impact of homelessness is becoming increasingly evident on a daily basis at The Sophia Way. In fact, what we are seeing in the depth of need is a growing phenomenon and one that we are stretching to meet.

The women we are serving at our emergency shelter today versus just five months ago shows an alarming trend. In April 2018, 32% of our clients demonstrated profound mental illness. As of today, that percentage has more than doubled to 68%!

Linda Benson, Director of Community Development at The Sophia Way shares other disturbing trends that paint an even clearer picture of the breakdown of our social and community support systems. She also talks about what we see at our shelters every day, how The Sophia Way is responding to the urgent needs of the women and why we need your support. Read More!
It is the Season of Holiday Giving!
The Holiday Season is the time to celebrate with family and friends, and spread good cheer in your community.

At The Sophia Way, we make it a special season for the women in our programs – at our Day Center, Sophia’s Place, Holly House and those who have moved into their own home. Decorating the shelters with holly and trimmings is just one part of raising their spirits. A bigger effort goes into creating a gift bag for every woman and their happiness as they receive it is our joy!
Every year we ask you to open your hearts and bring a smile to the woman with your thoughtful gifts. Click on the button to see their wish list and make your gifts.
Giving Tuesday: November 27
Join the community on November 27 and give YOUR gift of life and love to women experiencing homelessness on the Eastside. Our goals is to raise $15,000 and we hope you will help us reach it!

And thanks to the generous support of a caring community member, who has offered to match up to $4,000 of donations received on Giving Tuesday, your gift will be doubled!

We are extremely grateful for your financial gifts because of the need to support the many more women seeking shelter and housing.
