This image from my instagram memories helps to keep me motivated; I took it on an early morning 7 mile run in 2018.
Endurance is on my mind these days.
Since college, I have been a kind of / sort of runner. Back then, running looked like hitting the hills in warm weather (and the coliseum in cold) at WVU with my bestie, logging 3-4 miles and about 2000 stairs at the end of every day. Those runs were exhilarating, and truth be told, not that hard...I could have gone longer and further, if not for my interest in getting to happy hour with my friends. As work, marriage, and kids came along, my running routine evolved from logging miles pushing a jogging stroller (first a single then a double) to treadmills to being grateful to walk 3 miles a few weeks after a surgery. Turning 50 later this year isn’t helping my endurance mindset; but I am determined to get it back since my previous peak was just a few years ago, when running 5-7 miles a day literally kept my mind and heart on the right path. continue reading

Supporting Local Businesses
The past year has brought the temporary or permanent closure of some of our favorite local shops, so we're thrilled to hear that one of our eclectic favorites, Tigertree, is coming out of hibernation! They'll soon be moving to a bigger space in Clintonville, and resuming in-store shopping in the near future.
Looking Forward
Things are starting to look up, and we are beginning to look forward. There is hope that in-person events will return in the fall, and after seeing Broadway in Columbus' season line-up, we really, really can't wait. Hamilton is first up, set to run from September 21st to October 17th.

Fashion season is in full swing, even though most shows are happening virtually. All virtual shows, however disappointing, give designers the opportunity to make creative decisions that wouldn't be possible with an in-person audience. Our favorite example of this is Miu Miu's FW21 show, located high in the Dolomites.

Chanel's FW21 collection, presented this week in Paris, takes classic Chanel fabrics and cuts to the nightclub. Gorgeous metallics are paired with traditional tweed coats to create some of our favorite looks of the season.

Elderly Americans have been caught in a catch-22 with dire consequences. The threat of contracting COVID-19 is compounded by the separation from family and friends. And while the community aspects of assisted living may seem appealing to some, pandemic outbreaks are showing the vulnerability of community living. Home Care Assistance provides expert at-home care to ensure that seniors can stay safe and comfortable in their own homes.

The Planter of Modern Life is a fascinating biography of Louis Bromfield, the father of modern organic farming. The narrative follows Bromfield's life from his days as a
