Artist duo DevNGosha Finishes Mural in South Park After Two Months

South Park's newest mural is now complete!  Created by artist duo DevNGosha, the mural spans two sides of the parking structure on Hope and 11th St., took two months to paint, and is the first of its kind.  Huge thanks to PSP Investments and the Do Art Foundation for making this happen on such a prominent space in the neighborhood.

The mural is part of the South Park BID's public art initiative with the Do Art Foundation, which has brought two murals to the neighborhood since August 2014.  This collaborative effort connects artists with local property owners, and facilitates the installation of public art in the South Park neighborhood.  Three more murals are planned for the coming months, as well as other types of installations.

Snap some pics, and be sure to tag them #SPDoesArt!

The event took place at the LA Convention Center in South Park, and featured our mobile kiosk, Sparky, at the entrance as well.  Over 70 new contacts were made, making it a great step forward in filling our commercial vacancies.

Privatization of LACC Yields First Profit in Years as AEG ManagesAEG

Congratulations to Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) on completing one year as the managers of the Los Angeles Convention Center!  The City of Los Angeles moved to a private operator in early 2014, choosing AEG as the managing entity. The change has already paid off for the City, saving millions of dollars for the City's General Fund, and improving efficiency for the facility.

AEG has also enhanced LACC, upgrading technology to be more modern and green, improving lighting systems, and creating a new maintenance program for the facility.  Clients have noticed the changes, and new business contracts have been secured since the renovations have been made.  AEG has been working closely with the LA Tourism and Convention Board as well, maintaing an important relationship between management of the facility and marketing/sales.

Here's to many more years of great partnerships with the City of LA, AEG, and LATCB, bringing great events and conventions to LACC and South Park!
