South Park After School Program Open House

Kid City Is Having an Open House - and You're Invited on 10/15!KidCity

Join this great local non profit as they host an Open House, so you can get to know their great members and experience all that Kid City has to offer!  They've set up the evening to encourage students to practice speaking to professional adults about their career and college plans and questions, and to invite guests to share their educational and career paths too. The event is designed to emphasize one-to-one conversations with students, volunteers, and staff, and to provide our guests with the best possible introduction to our program.

Nearly all the students who participate in Kid City are first generation college-bound students from very low income families.  There will be refreshments, and to those who are interested, we will also provide information on other volunteer opportunities.

Many Projects Are Currently Underway at the South Park BID

Your South Park BID team is hard at work on various projects to make your district an even better place to be.  In the works are district identity projects, infrastructure endeavors, holiday decor, new marketing efforts, increased safety trainings, and more!

The plan to fix the worst areas of sidewalks that will not be repaired by developers in the next couple of years is underway, as is a plan to plant new trees in vacant wells, the design of a parklet on 11th and Hope, and new street banners across the neighborhood.  The security team is taking advantage of new technology to be more efficient, and the public art program has much more in store.

Stay tuned for much more to come in South Park, the Place to Be!

Please Welcome Sergio Urena, Our New Program Manager

South Park BID is excited to welcome new members to our stellar Security Team, including new Program Manager Sergio Urena.  With team members moving to school or new endeavors, we're making sure the safety of our neighborhood remains in top-notch, capable hands.  Sergio joined our team just last week as the new head of security, and has new ideas for making South Park an even safer and more comfortable place to be.

Many of our officers on the streets are new as well, and have been fully trained in our programs.  Remember, if you see an officers on their cell phone, they are likely logging where they are in our tracking system.

Be sure to say "Hello!" to new faces you see on our bikes and segways, and make them feel as welcome as you do in our community.  Also, feel free to stop by our office and meet Sergio, in order to learn about updates to our security system and team.
