AEG Worldwide Moves In To the Historic Desmond Building

The South Park BID and our local businesses are very excited to welcome AEG Worldwide employees to their new office on Hope Street. The historic Desmond Building will serve as the new creative office space for over 500 employees who are new to Downtown LA. AEG will be consolidating workers in the AEG LIVE and AXS Ticketing divisions from offices outside of Downtown LA, and moving them closer to the company's headquarters at L.A. LIVE at Olympic Blvd. and Figueroa St.

Originally constructed in 1916 as a five-story outpost for Ohio-based Willys-Overland Motors, the Desmond Building later became a warehouse for Desmond's department store and was eventually vacated. Upon capturing the interest of AEG, Skidmore, Owings and Merrill crafted and implemented the building design, which included upgrades to the 99-year-old structure such as seismic retrofitting, while Lincoln Property Company managed the development and Suffolk Construction made the upgrades a reality.

Help Keep Your Community Clean By Reporting Dumpers

anti alley dumping

Illegal dumping, which is defined as: items are unclaimed material which are deposited at the curbside, in alleys, in cul-de-sacs and common refuse collection areas located in apartment complexes, is becoming a fast-growing issue in South Park and Downtown LA more broadly.
California Penal Code 374.3 makes illegal dumping on public and private property punishable by a fine up to $10,000.
The South Park BID Clean Team has been working diligently to clean up after illegal dumpers weekly. This is time that should be allocated to keeping our streets clean and clear of graffiti.
To report illegal dumping in progress between 7:00 am - 4:00 pm call the BOSS Enforcement Division: (213) 847-6000. After hours call: (877)ASKLAPD.
Did you know that the City of Los Angeles' Sanitation Department of Public Works offers free pick-up of large or bully items? Call 3-1-1 or 800-773-2489 to plan a pick up.
