It starts with one. It starts with you. When you make an online gift at centerffs.org/donate, you help to change a life for a child in need.
Jamie is an 11 year old girl living in our emergency shelter and recovering from devastating trauma. She arrived at our home filled with grief and sadness. Trained counselors continue to work with Jamie as she tries to find a way to begin to heal.
Because of your recent online donations, Jamie had the chance to reduce stress and have fun with arts and craft supplies, and she enjoyed selecting a journal and her favorite kind of pens to help her journal more. She also picked several new games for Friday Game Night, giving her a chance to have fun with the other teens in the home, and our staff shared it was the most carefree they had seen her since she arrived at the shelter.
Thank you for being the one to make sure help is available for a child in need. Your online gifts are a help as Jamie finds her pathway to healing.

You Made the Seasons Bright |
With many families and children facing unexpected challenges this year, many were uncertain about how the holidays would turn out. But thanks to you, our dedicated donors and community partners, this holiday season was one to remember.

“The help we received made sure we could have a nice Christmas meal and pick out a few extra special things for our kids to enjoy. For us as the parents, this year was extra special because we got to experience shopping, cooking, and creating family traditions with our kids.” –Mom
“This year was a tough year for myself and my family. With the unexpected death of my husband and two newborn babies, I had a lot to juggle. I was not sure how I could purchase gifts for each of my kids but with the help of all the wonderful donors I was able to provide them with toys and clothes and other items they wanted or needed. They were so excited to open every gift and have not stopped playing with the toys they received. I am so grateful for all that you have done, everyone's kindness is very much appreciated." – Mom of 11
“Each of our girls received decorative lights for their rooms and a neck pillow, personalized in their favorite color or in the shape of their favorite animal. Each one was gifted a body spray in a fragrance picked out with what scent would best match each girl. We also got them all leggings, which they practically live in, and everything on their lists, thanks to all of our generous donors. They all really appreciated the unique touches and knowing the gifts were picked out with them in mind.” – Residential home director
“Our team surprised one young man with a brand new coat. They knew he really needed it even though he didn’t specifically ask for it. He was thrilled. In the following very cold days, he could be heard asking, ‘Can we go outside? I haven’t been able to wear my new jacket yet.’ He was so glad to have what he needed and felt so cared for!” – Residential home director
